By using the CartIQ Evidence-Engine and Energy Hub, you agree to these scientific and usage standards.

1. The Evidence-Engine & Energy Hub Methodology

By using CartIQ, you acknowledge that our health insights are based on an objective calculation: 60% Nutri-Score + 30% NOVA Group + 10% Additive Guard. You further acknowledge:

  • Edible Yield Logic: Nutrition tracking in the Energy Hub is an estimate based on USDA Edible Yield Factors. While more accurate than raw weight tracking, these remain scientific estimates.
  • Data Sources: We rely on third-party data (FatSecret, USDA, Open Food Facts). We are not responsible for manufacturer changes to ingredients or nutritional labels that have not yet been updated in these databases.
  • Tool vs. Guarantee: A "Clean Cart" score or "Basket Optimization" suggestion is a tool for behavioral improvement, not a medical guarantee of health outcomes.

Medical Disclaimer: CartIQ is an informational tool for grocery management and nutritional awareness. We are not medical professionals. Always manually verify allergen information and ingredient lists on physical packaging before consumption, as manufacturer data can change without notice.

2. Premium Subscriptions & Billing

  • Trial Period: Premium features may be offered with a 7-day free trial. You must cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends to avoid being charged.
  • Subscription: Premium is billed at $4.99/month. Subscriptions automatically renew unless managed in your Play Store account settings.
  • Usage Limits: Free tier users may experience limits on AI Chef recipes, SmartScan volume, and Basket Optimization audits.

3. Acceptable Use of AI Services

You agree not to abuse the VoiceFlow AI, SmartScan AI, or Discovery Dinner (AI Chef) features. Attempts to scrape our Evidence-Engine logic, reverse-engineer our proprietary scoring, or flood the service with automated requests will result in immediate account termination.

4. Household Collaboration

If you use household sharing features, you acknowledge that other members of your household will be able to see shared grocery lists and purchase history.

5. Limitation of Liability

CartIQ is provided "as is." While we strive for "industry-grade accuracy," we are not liable for any nutritional deficiencies, allergic reactions, or health issues arising from the use of the app or reliance on its automated tracking features.
