1. Our Commitment to Transparency

CartIQ ("we," "our," or "us") is built on the principle of total transparency. This policy details how our Evidence-Engine and Energy Hub process your data using lab-verified scientific standards and secure encryption.

2. Information We Collect & Why

• Grocery & Purchase Data: We collect information about items added to your smart lists and products marked as "purchased." This is used to calculate your "Clean Cart" streaks and to power the Energy Hub for automated nutrition tracking.
• Product Interaction (SmartScan AI): When you scan a barcode, we process that data against Open Food Facts and the FatSecret Branded Nutrition Database to provide health scores and additive warnings.
• Biological & Edible Yield Data: To provide precision tracking, we apply USDA Edible Yield Factors (Handbook 697) to your purchased items. This allows us to estimate actual edible calories by subtracting non-edible waste (peels, bones, pits).
• Voice Data (VoiceFlow): Audio used for list building is processed via OpenAI/VoiceFlow and is not stored permanently on our servers.
• Biometrics: Fingerprint and Face ID data stay exclusively in your Android Keystore; CartIQ never sees or touches this data.

3. Data Storage & Security

• Local vs. Cloud: Your health impact scores and shopping history are stored locally on your device and synced via encrypted cloud storage (Supabase) to enable household collaboration.
• Health Dashboard: Your Energy Hub data is used solely to provide your personal health insights and is never shared with third parties.

4. Third-Party Integrations

We utilize industry-grade databases to verify food accuracy, including:

• FatSecret Platform API (Nutrition data)
• USDA FoodData Central (Scientific yield data)
• Open Food Facts (Product classification)

5. Data Deletion

You own your data. To request a full purge of your account, purchase history, and health metrics, contact support@cartiqai.app.
